Location & Privacy

To provide the best marketplace experience, we display pings (listings) that are relevant and nearby to you. If your location permissions are disabled, we cannot detect which pings to show you, and you will not be able to create new pings.

Your privacy is our priority

We only request your location when necessary to use the app, and we do not continuously track your position or share your exact coordinates for security and privacy reasons.

You can enable location from the top-of-page banner, or by clicking the lock icon in your browser's address bar → Site settings → Location → Allow.

Getting Started

After signing up and verifying your email, you'll be asked to complete your profile. This step is optional but highly recommended — a complete profile builds trust with other users.

  1. 1Choose your profession from the list (e.g. Electrician, Barber, IT Technician).
  2. 2Select your city — or tap "Detect my location" to auto-fill it.
  3. 3Optionally add a profile photo. Profiles with photos receive significantly more offers.

You can always update your profile later from Settings → Profile.

Trust & Reputation

Every member has a trust tier — a badge shown next to their name that tells you, at a glance, how established and reliable they are on PingMe. You'll see your own tier on your profile and in the sidebar, and the tier of anyone you make an offer to or chat with.

Your tier is calculated automatically from your activity — your reviews and rating, the number of deals you complete, your identity verifications, and your report and dispute history. Keep dealing fairly and your badge climbs on its own; there's nothing to apply for.

Tiers update automatically as you complete deals and collect reviews. Verifying your email, phone, and government ID is the fastest way to move up.

Reports and disputes can lower your tier. Always meet in safe public places, communicate through in-app chat, and only share your verification code after you've received the item or service.
